Job Description
Overview We are seeking passionate and energetic Dance Instructors to inspire and guide students of all ages in exploring the dynamic world of dance and performing arts. This role offers an opportunity to foster creativity, develop technical skills, and cultivate a love for movement through engaging instruction. Our studio is celebrating our 35th season and looking to grow our staff. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, expertise in various dance styles, and a commitment to nurturing students' artistic growth in a supportive environment. Duties Develop comprehensive dance curricula for your genre(s) of expertise (ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, contemporary, or hip-hop,) tailored to various age groups and skill levels Lead engaging dance classes that emphasize proper technique, choreography, musicality, and performance skills Manage classroom environments effectively by maintaining discipline, encouraging participation, and ensuring safety during all activities Prepare students for performances (winter and spring,) by choreographing routines and providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills Support students' emotional and physical development through behavior management strategies and personalized instruction Requirements Experience in teaching dance across diverse age groups with a focus on choreography and technical instruction Strong background in studio and/or competitive dance Knowledge of classroom management techniques to create positive learning environments for children Experience working with children or youth programs, demonstrating patience and adaptability in teaching styles Familiarity with childhood development principles, special education needs, or behavior management strategies is highly desirable Join our staff and help ignite passion for the arts!
