Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Youth Dance Coach to inspire young dancers and foster their love for the performing arts. In this dynamic role, you will lead engaging dance classes, develop creative curricula, and nurture students' artistic growth through movement and expression. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with children and teenagers, possesses a strong background in dance and arts education, and is committed to creating a positive, inclusive environment where every student can thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on youth through dance and creative arts instruction. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of choreography, ballet, contemporary dance, and other styles. Lead lively, motivating dance classes that promote technical skills, creativity, teamwork, and confidence among students. Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment conducive to learning. Incorporate visual arts, theater techniques, musical instruments, and other creative arts into dance lessons to enhance student engagement. Plan performances, showcases, or recitals that highlight students' progress and celebrate their achievements. Provide individualized feedback and support to help students improve their technique and artistic expression. Collaborate with parents, guardians, or program coordinators to track student progress and address any behavioral or developmental needs. Qualifications Proven experience working with children and youth in educational or extracurricular settings. Strong background in dance instruction with expertise in choreography, ballet, dancing techniques, and performance arts. Knowledge of curriculum development for arts education programs. Experience teaching visual & performing arts, theater experience, or related creative disciplines. Familiarity with classroom management strategies that foster positive behavior and childhood development. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate music, movement, photography, sewing or other creative arts as applicable. Excellent communication skills for working with students of diverse backgrounds and collaborating with families or team members. Prior experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is a plus; certification in special education or childhood development is advantageous.
