Organization Details Organization Information Hardin County Schools is Kentucky's fourth largest school district. HCS serves approximately 14,000 students each school year. The district's operating budget is approximately $134 million and employs nearly 2,700 people. HCS offers a diverse and challenging curriculum for all students. All schools focus on individual relationships and building connections while ensuring rigorous courses are taught in every subject area. Our high schools further enhance the curriculum by providing an array of exploratory and college prep courses, extracurricular activities and more than 40 career pathways. We use more than 200 buses to drive 16,000 square miles daily to transport our students. HCS serves more than 11,000 lunches and a free breakfast to students that chooses to eat.
