Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Ballet Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ballet and a genuine desire to share their knowledge and passion for dance with students. The Dance Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging dance classes, choreographing routines, and providing constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and performance skills.
Schedule:
Must have availability Thursdays 4:30-6:15pm from September-end of May. Classes are Grades 1-2 Tap and Grades 3-4 Ballet/Lyrical. There is an opportunity for more hours and additional opportunities for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute well-structured dance classes tailored to the age and skill level of students. Develop and choreograph dance routines for recital. Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students to help them improve their technique, flexibility, and performance quality. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported. Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding class schedules, performance opportunities, and student progress. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops as required.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in dance, performing arts, or related field preferred. Experience as a dance teacher or instructor, with a strong background in multiple dance styles is preferred. Excellent dance technique and performance skills. Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students of all ages and skill levels. Strong choreography skills and the ability to create original dance routines. Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching dance. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. CPR and first aid certification (preferred).
