Immediately Job Description Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis, Massachusetts seeks a part
  • to full-time Wellness teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
We are seeking candidates who will bring to Sturgis a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion through lived experience, teaching, scholarship and/or community service. Our Wellness class provides a space for students to understand themselves better, develop lifelong wellness practices, and to explore the relationship between the body and the mind. Ideally, the Wellness teacher helps students develop their social, physical, and mental wellness, using a combination of yoga, meditation, and various other physical activities, as well as examining nutrition. The following teaching strategies are utilized during Wellness classes:
  • Individual, pair, small group activities, and whole group activities.
  • Reflections/journaling will be given to support activities done in class.
  • Short videos, audio clips, guest speakers, and readings to provide topics for discussion. This position is part
  • to full-time, depending on how the candidate's experience and interest aligns with the school's needs.
