Overview We are seeking an energetic and passionate Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages through the art of movement and performance. Duties Design and implement engaging dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating elements of ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and other styles. Lead classes that develop students' technical abilities, musicality, choreography skills, and stage presence. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning and artistic expression. Prepare students for performances, showcases, or competitions by choreographing routines and providing constructive feedback. Collaborate with parents, guardians, or program coordinators to track student progress and address individual needs. Incorporate music and visual arts elements into dance instruction to enhance creativity and understanding of the performing arts. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health guidelines, proper equipment use, and injury prevention protocols. Requirements Proven experience teaching dance or performing arts to children or youth programs; preschool or early childhood education experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of choreography techniques across multiple dance styles including ballet and contemporary dance. Ability to develop comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student developmental stages. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate diverse learners. Experience working with children or special education populations; patience and adaptability are essential. Familiarity with musical instruments or teaching music can enhance instructional delivery. Additional skills such as theater experience, photography, sewing, cooking, childcare, or culinary arts are considered valuable assets for creating engaging lessons.
