Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our vibrant team. Friends in Motion is dedicated to providing dance classes to adults specializing in classes for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles (including tap) and a commitment to fostering a love for dance in students of all skill levels. This role involves teaching dance classes to students of multiple skill levels, developing engaging lesson plans, offering adaptive options for movement as necessary, and creating a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

Duties Implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to adults with disabilities of different age groups and skill levels. Conduct engaging dance classes that promote physical fitness, coordination, and artistic expression. Manage classroom dynamics effectively to ensure a supportive and respectful environment for all students. Provide individualized attention and guidance to students as needed, helping them improve their skills and confidence. Collaborate with other instructors to plan special events, performances, or showcases that highlight student achievements. Maintain clear communication with students, staff, and guardians regarding progress, expectations, and upcoming events. Skills Proficient in various dance styles such as ballet, tap, hip-hop, or jazz. Proficiency in tap is necessary for this role. Experience working or volunteering with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in educational or recreational settings is ideal! Ability to manage the classroom effectively while promoting positive interactions among students. Experience in instructing or providing individualized instruction to enhance student learning experiences. The instructor will lead a weekly class that is 1 hour in duration and a private tap lesson that is 30 minutes in duration.
