Overview Dancin on the Edge is seeking a dynamic and energetic Hip-Hop and Pom Instructor to lead engaging dance classes for our community. This paid position involves instructing students in both hip-hop and pom routines, fostering a fun and motivating environment. The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-energy classes that promote dance skills, teamwork, and confidence among participants. The classes are scheduled on Mondays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, featuring two different classes—one focused on hip-hop and the other on pom techniques. Join our award winning staff! Responsibilities Lead and instruct weekly dance classes in both hip-hop and pom styles for students of various ages and skill levels. Prepare lesson plans that include warm-ups, choreography, technique drills, and cool-down activities tailored to each class type. Create an inclusive, positive atmosphere that encourages participation, creativity, and teamwork. Demonstrate dance movements clearly and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities to maintain a safe environment for all participants. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding class expectations, progress, and upcoming events. Maintain punctuality and professionalism during all scheduled classes on Mondays from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. Skills Proven experience in teaching or performing hip-hop and pom dance styles. Strong knowledge of dance techniques relevant to both genres. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage students of diverse backgrounds. Ability to choreograph routines suitable for different skill levels. Energetic personality with a passion for dance education and youth development. Reliable, organized, and able to manage class time effectively within the scheduled hours.
