We aim to be the dance family you've always wanted — and we're growing! We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and experienced Competition Dance Team Instructor to train and mentor dancers ages 7-12. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about youth development and enjoys preparing dancers for performances and regional competitions. About the
Position:
This position is perfect for someone who loves teaching dance to young children, ages 7-12.
Preferred availability includes:
Sundays 2:00-7:00pm, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 5:00-8:00pm Occasional Fridays and Saturdays for rehearsals, competitions, and performances
What You'll Do:
Teach weekly dance classes with engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Choreograph engaging, age-appropriate competition and recital routines for ages 7-12. Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging classroom environment. Build dancers' technical skills, performance quality, musicality, flexibility, and confidence. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and a positive rehearsal environment. Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and performance details. Support marketing, open houses, and community events. Assist with showcase logistics (costumes, volunteer coordination, backstage support). Attend competitions, dress rehearsals, and studio events as scheduled.
What We're Looking For:
At least 2 years of experience teaching dance technique and choreography. Experience working with children ages 7-12. Strong background in Acro, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary/Lyrical, Modern, and/or Majorette. Previous competition dance experience (performer, instructor, or coach) preferred. Excellent classroom management and organizational skills. Reliable, punctual, and professional. Creative, energetic, positive, and patient. Comfortable following systems and contributing ideas to improve them. Applicants preferred to have a dance-related degree or experience teaching multiple genres.
