Job Description
We are looking for more teachers to grow our team for the 2026-2027 school year! ROAD® is an educational outreach program that is celebrating 28 years and has touched over 11,000 lives. ROAD® has two 10-week sessions with 2nd grade students. At the end of the program, some students are chosen to receive partial to full scholarships to Nan Klinger Excellence in Dance. Responsibilities:
- Teach dance classes to students of various ages and skill levels
- Plan and prepare lesson plans based on the curriculum
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Coordinate and organize dance recitals or performances for students to showcase their skills
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the dance industry
- Able to drive to local schools in the Akron area
- Available for semi-annual weekend training
Experience:
- Previous experience as a dance instructor or in a related field is preferred
- Knowledge and proficiency in one or more dance styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, or tap
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate dance techniques to students
- Patience and the ability to work with students of different ages and skill levels
- Creativity in choreographing routines and developing engaging lesson plans
