Classroom Teaching Full Job Description Adjunct Instructor of Dance Charleston Southern University Position Summary:

The Horton School of Music and Performing Arts (HSMPA) at Charleston Southern University is seeking Part-Time/Adjunct Dance Instructors to teach one to two courses per semester. The Department seeks instructors in particular to teach the areas of Jazz (Theatre Dance),

Contemporary Dance, Ballet Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas. Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes. Maintain accurate records. Assist in planning and preparation for end-of-semester performances.

Required Qualifications:

The SACS (and NASM) credential standard: an earned master's degree (in any discipline), but with 18 graduate hours in the cognate being taught, or equivalent/comparable professional experience. Five years relevant work or teaching experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and support students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and utilize active learning strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Dance or a related field. Experience teaching in higher education.
