Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Contemporary Dance Teacher to inspire students through innovative dance instruction and creative arts education. In this role, you will design engaging curricula, lead energetic dance classes, and foster a supportive environment that encourages artistic expression and physical development. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant teaching style, strong choreography skills, and experience working with diverse age groups, especially youth and early childhood learners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to cultivate creativity, movement, and confidence in students of all backgrounds. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive dance curricula that incorporate contemporary dance techniques, choreography, and creative arts principles. Lead engaging dance classes for children, teens, and adults, ensuring lessons are tailored to various skill levels and learning styles. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, inclusive environment that promotes participation and artistic growth. Plan and execute choreography for performances, recitals, or showcases that highlight students' progress and creativity. Incorporate music, visual arts, theater elements, and other performing arts into dance instruction to enrich the learning experience. Assess student progress regularly through observations, feedback sessions, and performance evaluations. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development for youth programs and special education classes to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners. Skills Proven experience in teaching contemporary dance styles with strong choreography abilities. Expertise in curriculum development tailored to different age groups including early childhood education and preschool programs. Excellent classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques suitable for children and adults. Experience working with children or youth in educational or arts settings; familiarity with childhood development principles. Knowledge of teaching visual & performing arts along with proficiency in dance instruction techniques. Ability to integrate musical instruments or music technology into dance lessons; familiarity with theater or performance arts is a plus. Strong lesson planning skills with an emphasis on creative arts instruction, special education needs, or inclusive teaching practices. Pay:
$35.00 - $45.00 per hour
