Job Description
Overview Capital Core Dance Studio in Midlothian is seeking a passionate and energetic Irish Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages through the vibrant art of Irish dance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to share the rich cultural heritage of Irish dance while fostering creativity, discipline, and confidence in your students. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, expertise, and a commitment to nurturing a love for dance and performing arts in a dynamic classroom environment. Paid positions are available for both experienced instructors and those eager to develop their teaching skills within a lively, supportive setting. Duties Develop engaging curriculum plans that incorporate traditional Irish dance techniques, choreography, and musical elements Lead energetic dance classes for diverse age groups, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere Manage classroom behavior effectively while encouraging students' artistic expression and teamwork Teach students proper dance posture, footwork, and timing, emphasizing technique and performance skills Incorporate visual arts, music, or theater elements into lessons to enhance students' overall artistic development Prepare students for performances by choreographing routines and guiding rehearsals with attention to detail Foster a safe environment that promotes childhood development, early childhood education principles, and positive behavior management Qualifications Proven experience in Irish dance instruction or similar dance styles such as ballet or traditional folk dances Strong background in choreography, lesson planning, and curriculum development tailored to various skill levels Experience working with children and youth programs, including preschool or early childhood education settings Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Ability to teach visual & performing arts with a focus on creative arts instruction Skills in teaching music or musical instruments relevant to dance accompaniment are a plus Familiarity with theater experience or performing arts enhances instructional versatility Additional skills in photography, sewing, cooking, childcare, or culinary arts are beneficial but not required Join us to ignite passion for Irish dance while helping students develop their artistic talents!
