The Pacific Northwest Dance Foundaton is a non-profit organization aimed at providing affordable and equitable dance and performing arts education to all ages and abilities. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles, particularly Ballet and Jazz, and possess the ability to engage and inspire students of all ages. This role involves teaching dance classes, developing curriculum, and fostering a positive learning environment that promotes creativity and self-expression. Duties Develop and implement engaging dance curricula for students of varying skill levels. Teach dance techniques in a clear and effective manner, ensuring students understand the fundamentals. Create lesson plans that incorporate elements of childhood development and education principles. Provide individualized feedback to students to enhance their skills and confidence. Organize and conduct performances or showcases to highlight student progress. Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with other instructors to coordinate class schedules and events. Utilize photography skills to document student performances and milestones. Skills Strong knowledge of curriculum development tailored for different age groups. Experience working with students in a classroom or studio setting. Background in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable. Proficiency in ballet and other dance forms, with the ability to teach various styles. Understanding of childhood development principles to effectively engage young learners. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective instruction. Ability to motivate and inspire students while fostering a love for dance. Photography skills are a plus for capturing class activities and performances.
