89 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Dance instruction Conducting training sessions Classroom Teaching Specialization in creative arts instruction Full Job Description General Description Responsible for instructing classes, taking and recording lesson attendance, communicating with students and parents, and coordinates with the Recreation Supervisor for class and recital needs. Examples of Duties Instructs dance lessons and teaches proper techniques and skill development. Assists in developing lessons. Instructs, designs, and choreographs dance acts and routines for annual recitals. Chooses costumes and coordinates recital costume needs with parents. Responsible for safety and supervision of participants. Takes and records lesson attendance. Communicates with students and parents, maintains a positive public image, and fosters a positive attitude through participation. Works with the Recreation Supervisor regarding class and recital needs. Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have dance and teaching experience. A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of dance techniques and skill development. Considerable skill in teaching techniques. Skill in developing and implementing lesson plans for various age groups and abilities. Ability to plan, organize, direct, and instruct programs, staff, and participants. Ability to maintain a positive public image and positive attitude. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to read and perform basic calculations. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to perform work effectively with regular distractions and to reason, analyze, and meet deadlines. Ability to work the required hours of the position.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform the following activities: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
