Associate Education Director The Associate Education Director supports the Education Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the education department, with a focus on program logistics and grants, intern/assistant teacher staffing, school-based programming, and teaching. This is an opportunity to help build the systems and capacity behind a growing education department, working closely with a team of full-time educators and a cohort of teaching artist fellows and interns. Essential Duties School-Based Programming Teach in school workshops and classes in the community Write and collect data for and prepare grant reports for free school-based programming Track progress on deliverables, updates, and improvements promised in grant agreements Provide narrative, statistics, success stories, photos and other information to the grant writer for reports and requests Review and update curriculum in coordination with Education Director Staffing Recruit, hire, schedule, and support summer interns and assistant teachers Organize arrival and housing for interns and fellows Supervise fellows, interns, freelance teachers, and students Curriculum & Teaching Quality Teach classes and/or direct youth productions at Company locations Support the review and implementation of curriculum developed by the Education Director Observe and provide feedback on classes on a regular basis Flag recurring issues or standout performance to the Education Director Family & Community Communication Serve as a point of contact for family questions or complaints regarding classes, curriculum, or instruction Escalate significant concerns to the Education Director as needed Flag recurring issues or standout performance to the Education Director Company Member Contribute artistically to mainstage season or touring theater Participate in regular script development for new projects Other Job Duties Operate within the approved annual budget under the supervision of the Education Director Attend all necessary meetings, including department, all-staff and other meetings as needed Work flexible schedule depending on responsibilities Participate in company events/activities as required Support new partnerships and projects as needed Perform other duties as assigned by the Education Director Skills and Abilities Prior experience in theater education, arts administration, or a related field Experience hiring, training, and supervising teaching artists, interns, or fellows Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable managing multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously Experience teaching in schools and writing and reporting on grants for school-based or grant-funded programming Directing experience, particularly with youth or school-age performers Ability to observe classes and deliver constructive, actionable feedback to teaching artists Comfortable serving as a point of contact for families and community members Act as a representative of the company, providing excellent customer service to members, patrons, vendors, and staff. Interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the organization. Maintain current certification in CPR/1st Aid. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift at least 25lbs. Ability to carry and manage large and oversize set pieces. On-site attendance is required. Position Compensation Range $55,000 - $70,000
