Everett/Mill Creek, WA Salary:
$70,000- 80,000 per year, depending on experience Bright Star Childcare is seeking an experienced and innovative Curriculum Director to lead the development and implementation of curriculum across our growing network of schools in Washington and Oregon.

Use AI to support lesson planning, activity development, and curriculum creation. Explore technology that helps teachers differentiate learning experiences. Develop STEM, problem-solving, creativity, and technology-related activities. Identify tools that make curriculum planning and documentation more efficient. Research and evaluate emerging educational technology and AI tools. Develop guidelines for responsible and appropriate AI use. Help teachers understand how technology can support—not replace—meaningful teacher-child interactions. Ensure children's privacy, safety, relationships, creativity, and hands-on learning remain at the center of our educational approach. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain curriculum for multiple age groups and developmental levels. Create lesson plans, activities, resources, and materials that teachers can easily implement and adapt. Build a consistent educational framework across all Bright Star Childcare schools. Incorporate Montessori, STEM, play-based learning, hands-on exploration, creativity, and developmentally appropriate practices. Visit classrooms regularly to observe, coach, and support teachers. Coach and mentor teachers and school directors in curriculum implementation and instructional practices. Lead professional development, workshops, and training for teachers and leadership. Partner with school directors to identify instructional challenges and develop solutions. Evaluate curriculum effectiveness through classroom observations, teacher feedback, data, and child development. Continuously improve curriculum based on research, best practices, and classroom needs. Research and evaluate emerging AI and educational technology. Help establish responsible practices and guidelines for technology and AI use. Develop curriculum standards, assessment tools, teacher resources, and training materials. Ensure curriculum aligns with applicable early childhood standards and licensing requirements. Collaborate with ownership and school leadership on the long-term educational vision for the organization. Stay current with trends and research in early childhood education, Montessori, STEM, play-based learning, and educational technology. Travel between Bright Star Childcare locations as needed. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood educator and instructional leader who is creative, innovative, organized, collaborative, and passionate about the future of education. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in early childhood education, curriculum development, instructional leadership, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Montessori Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field. Experience developing and/or implementing curriculum. Experience coaching, mentoring, and/or evaluating teachers. Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Experience with Montessori, play-based, STEM, or other progressive educational approaches. Strong instructional leadership and teacher coaching skills. Interest in AI, educational technology, and emerging educational tools. Willingness to learn and explore new technology. Strong organizational and project-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting to and training groups of teachers and directors. Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Workspace, and other digital tools. Ability to use data and observations to guide curriculum decisions. Comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial, and changing organization. Positive, motivating, adaptable, and solutions-oriented. Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement. Willingness to travel between locations, with travel expected to be greater than 30% . Location & Travel Primary Location:
Everett/Mill Creek, Washington This position will support Bright Star Childcare locations throughout Washington and Oregon , including locations in Everett/Mill Creek, Spokane, and Portland. Regular travel between school locations is required, with travel expected to be greater than 30% .
