Job Description
I. MAJOR PURPOSE
Guide preschool children through age appropriate music, movement, acting games and drama activities designed to spark creativity and a love for theater.II. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate theater curricula aligned with session themes. Guide and collaborate with the assistant theater explorer teacher to ensure smooth lesson execution Prepare class to share songs and learned skills for the parent showcase and prepare a few songs for the opening act before the big kid show.III. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Create weekly lesson plans that introduce, implement and reinforce basic theater skills in a fun and engaging way. Establish a supportive, well-organized and joyful classroom environment. Handle class prep, set-up and coordination with the Director of Youth Music and Theater Arts. Develop good rapport with parents and volunteers in the classroom.IV. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Relates as a colleague with the assistant explorer teacher and the entire staff.V. QUALIFICATIONS
Love preschoolers and the chaos of energy and joy that working with them brings Experience teaching preschoolers and/or young children Theater experience preferred Comfortable singing, leading song, movement and music. Organizational and team-oriented skills. Available Tuesdays afternoonsVI. SCHEDULE
Two 90 minute classes per week- (plus 3 hours weekly for preparation, planning and set-up). Tuesdays 2:45
