Preschool theatre teacher Montana Preschool Santa Monica, CA Job Details Contract $60 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Social skills building Instructional modifications Creative development (child development components) Teaching theater Music activities (creative arts teaching) Storytelling activities for children Educational material preparation Interactive activities lessons (early childhood general education) Classroom organization for children Youth group activity facilitation Art projects (creative arts teaching) Storytelling (creative arts teaching) Classroom community building Entry level Dramatic play (creative arts teaching) Full Job Description Theater Teacher — Preschool Enrichment Program Montana Preschool | Santa Monica, CAPart-time | Once a week for 2 hours Montana Preschool is looking for a warm, creative Theater Teacher to lead a weekly two-hour theater class for children ages 18 months to 5 years. The teacher will introduce young children to theater through playful, age-appropriate activities that support creativity, confidence, self-expression, and social skills. Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging theater activities suited to different preschool ages and developmental stages. Use storytelling, pretend play, movement, music, simple improvisation, and dramatic expression. Create a welcoming environment where every child can participate comfortably. Encourage listening, cooperation, imagination, and confidence without pressuring children to perform. Communicate professionally and collaborate with preschool staff. Prepare and organize any materials needed for each class. Qualifications Experience teaching theater, drama, movement, or performing arts to young children. Enjoyment of working with preschool-aged children. Warm, patient, energetic, and dependable approach. Ability to adapt activities for toddlers and preschoolers. Early childhood education experience is a plus. The class takes place once a week for two hours. The specific day and time can be discussed.
