Job Description

The Stage School Teaching Artists The Stage School is now accepting applications for an experienced Dance Teacher/Choreographer for the upcoming Fall Term of our signature musical theatre program "The Company" beginning in September. We are seeking an instructor skilled in teaching dance and choreographing musical productions to children between six and sixteen years-old. The Company is a musical theater class for ages 6-16. Students are divided into three groups based on age. Each group works for one hour with a drama teacher, singing teacher, and dance teacher. There is a final performance on the last day of the term. The drama instructor for this class would teach on Sundays from 1pm-4pm at the Maine Park Leisure Center in Park Ridge, IL. Teachers are hired as independent contractors and are paid at the rate of $50-$55 per teaching hour based on experience. Reliable transportation is required. The Stage School has provided top quality instruction in the performing arts to students in the Park Ridge community since 2008. Qualifications Bachelors degree or higher Minimum two years experience teaching dance to young children Prior experience choreographing a large scale musical production Strong classroom management skills Fun, high energy personality and a love of theatre and children Teaching certification not required All new hired will be subject to an Illinois State Police Background Check.
