Job Description

A Marching Band Color Guard Instructor designs, teaches, and refines visual routines that bring a band's musical performance to life using flags, rifles, and dance movement. Responsible for choreographing routines tailored to the ensemble's skill level, the instructor leads rehearsals to develop body awareness, equipment technique, timing, and stage presence. They collaborate closely with the Marching Band Director and visual design staff to align visual themes with musical arrangements, coordinate drill movements, and ensure field safety. Beyond teaching field craft, the instructor oversees prop management, uniform and equipment maintenance, and section student leadership, while providing constructive feedback and maintaining a high standard of discipline and artistic excellence during rehearsals, games, and competitions.
