The instructor will guide students through acting techniques, improvisation, movement, storytelling, character development, and performance while preparing students for culminating showcases. Our instructors serve as artist-educators who cultivate creativity while developing life skills including communication, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork. Essential Responsibilities Plan and facilitate engaging theater lessons for elementary and middle school students. Teach foundational acting skills including voice, movement, characterization, improvisation, and stage presence. Lead theater games and ensemble-building activities. Direct rehearsals and prepare students for performances. Encourage creativity while supporting individual student growth. Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborate with Beyond The Stage leadership and partnering schools. Complete attendance and required program documentation. Arrive prepared with lesson plans and instructional materials. Maintain professionalism while representing Beyond The Stage LLC. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Performing Arts, Arts Education, or related field preferred. Experience teaching or directing children's theater programs. Strong classroom management skills. Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Reliable transportation. Ability to pass required background screenings. Preferred Qualifications Experience directing youth productions. Knowledge of stagecraft, script analysis, and performance preparation. Experience integrating social-emotional learning through theater. Familiarity with Louisiana Arts Standards or National Core Arts Standards. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, move, and demonstrate theatrical movement throughout instruction. Ability to lift instructional materials up to 25 pounds. Ability to actively engage students during rehearsals and performances.
