We are looking for someone who can confidently teach or assist with weekly tumbling classes for children ages 3 through teen. Classes are held on weekday afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings. The exact schedule will depend on your availability and the classes assigned. Why Teach at Encore Studio? You will work alongside a talented staff of dance, tumbling, music, and theatre instructors. Encore was founded in 2001 and has become one of the area's go-to studios for performing arts education. We are also the artistic and managing directors of Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts, which may provide instructors with opportunities to choreograph or perform in mainstage productions. Responsibilities Lead or assist with weekly tumbling classes. Safely and confidently spot students. Teach proper technique and age-appropriate skill progressions. Take charge of the classroom and maintain a safe, organized environment. Work effectively with children of different ages and ability levels. Encourage and positively motivate students. Prepare students for performances or demonstrations when applicable. Communicate professionally with fellow instructors and studio staff. Qualifications Experience in tumbling, gymnastics, cheerleading, acrobatics, or a related discipline. Previous teaching or coaching experience preferred. Strong knowledge of proper tumbling technique and safe spotting practices. Ability to manage a class independently. Dependable, professional, patient, and enthusiastic. Reliable transportation. Comfortable working with children ages 3 through teen. Choreography or performance-preparation experience is a plus. Schedule and Compensation Weekday afternoon and evening classes Saturday morning classes Instructor, assistant, and substitute opportunities may be available Some summer classes may be available The full class schedule begins in September Pay is based on experience and the position assigned Location Encore Studio is located in a safe, well-lit area of Harahan/River Ridge near the end of Earhart Expressway , a convenient drive from Uptown New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, and surrounding areas.
