GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Instructor will teach an engaging, inclusive theater course serving neurodivergent students in the Project Forward Program. The course will use theater as a dynamic tool to encourage self-expression, confidence, communication, creativity, and social skill development. Through hands-on activities such as storytelling, improvisation, role-playing, movement, voice work, and collaborative performance, the Instructor will provide students with opportunities to discover and strengthen their individual voices while developing very important workplace-readiness skills. Instruction should be accessible and adaptable, allowing students of varying abilities to participate meaningfully and experience success. The course will culminate in a small final performance or showcase, providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate the skills learned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

1. Focus on teaching self-expression, communication, and social skills through drama. 2. Create personalized activities to accommodate diverse abilities. 3. Facilitate a small final performance to showcase individual and group achievements. 4. Consult and co-plan with colleagues when needed. 5. Attend Project Forward staff meetings as scheduled.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

: 1. Bachelor's degree. 2. Experience teaching Theater, Drama or other related experience. 3. Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities strongly preferred. 4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player with students and Project Forward staff. 5. Proficiency in oral and written communication. 6. Proficiency in computer skills, including typing, storing/retrieving computer files, completing an online timesheet, tutorials, etc. 7. Valid Massachusetts Driver's License for field trip purposes. 8. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. COMPENSATION

: $36.55/hour; 3 hours per week (Instruction/Prep time) during Academic Year (Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Semesters). Part-time, non-benefited, MCCC Unit Position.
