Full Job Description Job Responsibilities:
Teach classes classes focused in drama skill building: warm ups/games, acting tools, character development, improv, team building, design/art, movement, etc. Collaborate with co-teacher to plan curriculum during weekly meetings Share tasks, responsibility and leadership with co-teacher while with students Support discipline, focus, and engagement Check students in and out for the day Meet expectations as defined by the Park School Employee Essential Expectations Scheduling Details September 3-November 6 M, T, Th, F 3:10-4:30
Qualifications/Requirements:
Enthusiasm for working with elementary and middle school-aged children Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Experience in theater production, stage management, or working with young performers is preferred Strong interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and other adults, organizational, and communication skills Creative problem-solving skills, a positive attitude that allows one to cooperate and collaborate effectively with others Flexibility in Schedule Demonstrate commitment to providing support to students and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in teaching and learning & experience in working in a culturally diverse community.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30 minute periods of time. The ability to regularly walk on and travel across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel, asphalt, etc.). The ability to lead, supervise and accompany students to all areas of the school campus (including all indoor and outdoor areas), including during day-to-day responsibilities and in case of emergency. The ability to regularly stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down in order to support students. The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in variable weather conditions. The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead. The ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs. The ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and, at times, loud environment. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
