Job Summary The Drama Assistant supports the Drama Director in planning, organizing, and producing school theatrical productions. This position assists with rehearsals, performances, and technical production while helping create a positive, safe, and engaging environment where students can develop their theatrical talents. Essential Responsibilities Assist the Drama Teacher with all aspects of theatrical productions, including planning, rehearsals, and performances. Help supervise students during rehearsals, performances, and other drama-related activities. Assist with auditions, casting logistics, and rehearsal organization. Support the coordination of costumes, props, scenery, lighting, sound, and backstage operations. Encourage student participation while fostering teamwork, responsibility, and creativity. Help ensure the safety and well-being of students during all rehearsals and performances. Communicate effectively with students, parents, volunteers, and school staff regarding production needs and schedules. Assist with set-up, performances, strike, and storage of production materials. Follow all FHSD policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned by the Drama Director or Building Principal. Qualifications Experience in theater, drama, performing arts, or technical theater is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and volunteers. Demonstrated ability to promote a positive and inclusive environment for students. Availability to attend after-school rehearsals, evening performances, and occasional weekend activities as required. Email To A Friend Print Version
