Musical Theatre & Voice Instructor — Year-Round, Ongoing Position Hunterdon Academy of the Arts (HAA) is a long-established performing arts school in Flemington, NJ, winner of Education Insider's "Best Theater Program 2026" award as well as a six-time winner of the Hunterdon Happening "Best Music School" award. We offer music and theatre arts instruction to students throughout Hunterdon County. We are seeking an experienced Musical Theatre and Voice Instructor who is passionate about teaching and looking for a stable, ongoing role with a consistent weekly schedule . An Important Note About This Position Reliability and year-round availability are essential to this role. We value professional performing experience and understand that many excellent teachers are also active artists. However, our students and families depend on consistency from their instructors, particularly during ongoing classes, private lessons, rehearsals, and production periods. This position is best suited to an educator who considers teaching a significant and dependable part of their professional life and can commit to a regular weekly schedule throughout the year, including summer. Candidates should be comfortable honoring their established teaching schedule even when auditions, rehearsals, performances, or other freelance opportunities arise. Occasional planned absences are understandable; frequent schedule changes, extended absences for performing engagements, or routinely prioritizing outside gigs over scheduled teaching responsibilities are not compatible with this position. We are especially interested in candidates who want to build long-term relationships with students and become an ongoing member of the HAA faculty. Responsibilities Teach foundational Theatre Arts and Musical Theatre classes Teach private voice lessons Direct and/or music-direct Musical Theatre stage productions Implement curriculum, lesson plans, and operational systems established by HAA leadership Maintain a positive, structured, and productive classroom environment Communicate professionally and reliably with HAA administration Maintain a consistent teaching schedule and provide continuity for students throughout the year Participate reliably in scheduled rehearsals, performances, and other production commitments Qualifications Strong Musical Theatre background Strong vocal technique and voice-teaching skills Experience working with children and teens Effective classroom-management skills Ability to direct and coach young performers Strong communication and organizational skills Demonstrated reliability and professional follow-through Ability to commit to a consistent, ongoing weekly teaching schedule Year-round availability, including the ability to maintain teaching commitments during typical professional theatre audition and performance seasons A genuine interest in teaching as an important part of your professional career Professional performance experience is welcomed and valued, but dependable teaching availability is a core requirement of this position.

Compensation & Employment Compensation:

$25-$50 per hour, commensurate with educational credentials, teaching experience, and professional experience.
