Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead our drill team at Lebanon High School. The Head Drill Instructor will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive training program that emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and performance excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential. Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a training curriculum for the drill team, focusing on technique, precision, and performance.
  • Conduct regular practice sessions, ensuring all team members are engaged and improving their skills.
  • Create and implement choreography for performances, competitions, and events.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages collaboration and respect among all members.
  • Organize and oversee participation in competitions, parades, and community events.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and performance expectations.
  • Evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance skills and teamwork.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and events.
  • Collaborate with other school staff and community organizations to promote the drill team and its activities.
  • Stay updated on best practices in drill instruction and participate in professional development opportunities. Requirements
  • Proven experience in drill instruction, dance, or a related field, preferably in a high school setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Knowledge of drill techniques, choreography, and performance standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred.
  • A passion for youth development and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for practices and events.
  • Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
