Delegated Behind the Wheel Trainer Paradise Unified School District Do you have the experience behind the wheel—and the ability to help others become safe, confident school bus drivers? Paradise Unified School District is looking for an experienced Delegated Behind the Wheel Trainer to support the training and development of our school bus driver trainees. This is an opportunity to take the skills and experience you have developed as a professional school bus driver and use them to help prepare the next generation of safe school transportation professionals.WHAT YOU'LL DO
As our Delegated Behind the Wheel Trainer, you will work under the direction of a state-certified instructor to provide hands-on driver training in the safe and proper operation of school buses and District vehicles.You'll:
Provide behind-the-wheel instruction and demonstrate proper driving techniques and skills. Coach driver trainees on safe driving practices, vehicle operation, passenger management, and professional driving habits. Model excellent safety practices and proper care of District vehicles and equipment. Help trainees improve their driving practices and successfully develop the skills required for school transportation. Apply and explain laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to school transportation. Maintain accurate training documentation as required by the California Department of Education. Work collaboratively with the Transportation Director and state-certified instructor to support successful driver training.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who is not only an experienced school bus driver, but also a patient and effective teacher. The right person can explain the "why" behind safe driving practices, demonstrate skills clearly, provide constructive feedback, and help trainees build confidence behind the wheel.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
