Stick Shift Driving Instructor & Independent Operator SHIFTR has been Southern California's preferred choice for professional quality stick shift lessons, and over the past 2.5 years we have grown tremendously in Southern California. As the face of SHIFTR, you'll be directly responsible for instructing our customers on how to properly drive a manual transmission vehicle. Your success in this role will ensure that we provide our customers with a smooth and fun experience when it comes to learning this skill. You'll Directly instruct (behind the wheel) on the fundamentals of stick shift driving Provide customers an educational experience as you answer all of their questions and provide actionable feedback Work at various training locations throughout the San Diego area that are convenient for you Make efficient decisions to ensure successful appointments and an excellent customer experience You Have At least 5 years of current manual transmission driving experience A valid driver's license A clean MVR & background check Interest in customer service and connecting with people A lot of patience! High attention to detail A strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations Self-motivation and team-orientation Calm demeanor under pressure Eagerness and desire to take on new responsibilities Highly effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Your own manual transmission vehicle Perks $39.88 - $120.45 per hour of lesson time (including a 5% monthly bonus based on performance) Tips Flexible schedule About Us At SHIFTR our goal is to teach individuals the proper skills and confidence to drive a manual transmission while making sure they have fun in the process. We opened Shift Bay Area in 2018 and grew tremendously in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2020 we opened Shift NorCal and started conducting lessons in the Sacramento area with the same level of success. We have taken what we learned over the last 8 years, created a unique model to operate in the Southern California market, and we would like you to be a part of our team! $39.88 - $120.45 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 - 20.0 per week

We sometimes instruct customers who are under 18 years of age and only have their permit, and per California law these customers may only drive with an instructor who is at least 25 years old. Are you willing to undergo a background check? If not, please list your concerns. When would you be available to start? This is a part-time position with an estimate of 4-20 hours per week (based on your preferences). Please confirm that you're looking for a part-time role. The requirement for this position is you must be available to work at least 3 days out of the week, and you must have flexible availability to work on both weekdays and some weekends. Which days of the week are you available to conduct lessons? How many hours per week are you available to work? Our pay range between $39.88 and $120.45 per lesson hour is very generous because we require that you use your own vehicle for conducting lessons. This results in a flexible work schedule for yourself, and allows us to bring you onboard quickly. The requirement for your vehicle is that the model year must not be older than 15 years and it must be in good mechanical and physical condition.
