Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Driver Instructor/Trainer to join our team and lead the development of skilled, confident commercial drivers. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training programs that cover essential driving skills, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will empower aspiring drivers to excel in their careers while ensuring they meet industry standards. Responsibilities Deliver classroom-based instruction on commercial driving techniques, safety regulations, and industry best practices, including topics such as air brake systems, manual transmissions, and tractor-trailer operations Conduct practical driving assessments in various vehicle types, including tractor-trailers and tankers, ensuring trainees develop safe and efficient driving habits Develop tailored training plans that address individual learning needs and skill levels, fostering a positive learning environment Evaluate trainee progress through written tests, practical evaluations, and ongoing feedback to ensure readiness for licensing or certification Maintain accurate training records, including attendance logs, assessment reports, and certification documentation Stay current with industry regulations and update training materials accordingly to ensure compliance with federal and state standards Mentor new instructors by sharing effective teaching techniques and best practices in adult education and classroom management Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on tractor-trailer operations; tanker and air brake certifications are highly desirable Strong background in commercial driving instruction or adult education with classroom experience in teaching technical skills Knowledge of manual transmission operation and proficiency in handling various vehicle types including trucks used for commercial purposes Familiarity with safety regulations related to commercial driving, including CDL (Commercial Driver's License) requirements Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate learners and provide clear instructions Ability to assess driver performance accurately and deliver constructive feedback for improvement Valid CDL with endorsements such as tanker or air brake is preferred; experience with truck driving safety protocols is essential Join us in shaping skilled drivers who prioritize safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
