COMMERCIAL

TRUCK DRIVER CLASS

"B" ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR- (PART-TIME)

LOCATION

Regional Transportation Training Center

DESCRIPTION

To deliver CDL Class "B" training to students and Business & Industry Clients at GA Piedmont Technical Colleges' four county service delivery areas. The successful candidate will be required to teach courses at the Regional Transportation Training Center. May be required to teach courses on the DeKalb Campus and/or the Newton Campus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• The instructor will instruct students in skilled and technical programs to a diverse population in business, industry and manufacturing
• Ability to administer tests and evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Develop teaching method and maintain management procedures and documentation
• Maintain program certification requirements in the field of instruction
• Meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three years of current driving experience with combination large vehicles (trucks and/or buses) is required. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED. Hold a Class B Commercial Driving License (CDL with Passenger endorsement), able to pass DOT physical and drug screen, and have strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills Applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekend. License must be provided for copying at the time of interview. Background screenings are conducted prior to employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A degree from an accredited college or university

• and• completed course comparable with the curriculum taught •OR• five (5) years of experience/expertise in •the area of curriculum taught.

CDL Examiners License, Defensive Driving Certification, extensive in- field work experience, teaching experience at the post-secondary level, and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Class B with a Passenger endorsement. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assumed

NOTE:

Salary range is $28.00 per hour. Adjunct Faculty are temporary positions, scheduled based on class needs of the college. Adjunct Faculty will generally sign assignment acknowledgements which cover a single term at a time, and employment is not guaranteed. Adjunct Faculty members do not receive benefits and are scheduled as needed. Adjunct Faculty work on a per-term basis, therefore future courses are not assured. Georgia Defined Contributions and taxes will be deducted.
