Job Duties:
Facilitate delivery of CDL training to students from a variety of backgrounds and monitor all student skill progress. Ensure students comply with all federal and state DOT requirements and ensure program standards continually meet the Federal Training Provider Registry Requirements. Schedule and prepare students for successful CDL driving test. Work daily with the team to organize classroom, range, and on-the-road student training activities, being mindful of student-to-instructor ratio and individual student learning styles. Evaluate and assess student completion and learning outcomes. Collaborate with Workforce Solutions support team for student success coaching and tracking as needed. Participate in student and employer recruitment events, as well as student retention activities. Participate in team planning meetings. Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to potential night-time instruction as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience OR 8 years of relevant experience can be substituted for a college credential [continuing education] expected] Active CDL A License 2 years of over-the-road CDL driving experience or 2 years of instructing experience Must be able to work independently. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments. Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent 5 years of CDL driving experience CDL Driving instructor experience and/or trainee road supervision Proficient in Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
