Job Description
ABC Child Development Center is seeking an experienced, dependable, and professional School Age Lead Teacher to join our team. We are also currently hiring qualified Lead Teachers for other age groups . School Age Lead Teacher Qualifications Applicants for the School Age Lead Teacher position must: Be at least 21 years of age Have a high school diploma or equivalent Have at least 2 years of child care/teaching experience Provide strong professional references from previous employers Possess a 45-Hour School Age Curriculum Certificate Possess a 45-Hour Child Growth and Development Certificate Have experience developing and implementing lesson plans, classroom activities, and daily schedules Be able to supervise and actively engage school-age children Be able to lift children and perform the physical duties required in a child care setting Have reliable transportation Be able to pass all required background screening and drug/alcohol testing Transportation Responsibilities This position may require transporting children to school and/or picking children up from school and returning them to the child care center . Candidates who will be responsible for transportation must possess a valid driver's license , have an acceptable driving record, and meet all applicable child care center and transportation requirements. Required Training/Certificates Qualified candidates must have or be able to provide documentation of required training, including: Health & Safety Training ADA Training Certificate First Aid & CPR Certification Breastfeeding Support Training 9-Hour Communication Training Any additional training required by MSDE/Office of Child Care for the position Primary Responsibilities The School Age Lead Teacher will be responsible for: Planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities Maintaining and following the classroom daily schedule Providing a safe, positive, structured, and engaging environment Supervising children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, field trips, and transitions Maintaining accurate classroom records and required documentation Communicating professionally with parents, families, coworkers, and administration Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom Following all ABC Child Development Center policies and procedures Following applicable MSDE/Office of Child Care regulations Assisting with transportation of school-age children when assigned Performing other duties related to the care, supervision, and education of children Other Lead Teacher Positions Available We are also accepting applications for qualified candidates for other Lead Teacher positions, including: Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher
- 45-Hour Infant/Toddler Certification required Preschool Lead Teacher
- 3 & 4 Year Old Classroom
- 90-Hour Preschool Certification required School Age Lead Teacher
- Split Shift
- 45-Hour School Age and 45-Hour Child Growth & Development Certificates required; valid driver's license required for transportation duties Monday-Friday positions are available.
