A Driving Instructor is responsible for teaching students the rules of the road and the safe way to handle an automobile or motorcycle. This may involve both classroom and/or behind the wheel instruction. They are required to remain up to date with their regional and national traffic laws to insure proper curriculum and demonstration. Some inform their students on the process to obtain a valid driver's license in their region or nation.

What You'll Do As a Driver Education Instructor, you'll have the opportunity to teach in the classroom, behind the wheel, or both.
Responsibilities include:
Teach classroom and/or behind-the-wheel driver education courses Create an engaging and interactive learning environment through discussion, activities, demonstrations, and instruction Coach students as they develop safe driving habits and decision-making skills Provide constructive feedback and progress updates to students and parents Follow All Star Driver Education's proven curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials (all provided) Promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused learning experience What We Offer Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends Starting pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour , based on experience and credentials Paid instructor training and ongoing professional development Comprehensive curriculum and teaching materials provided Supportive team environment

The Instructor Preparation Program (IPP) consists of four required 45-hour modules designed to prepare candidates for state certification as a Driver Education Instructor. Module 501 - Driver Task Analysis Learn the knowledge, skills, and decision-making processes required for safe driving. Module 502 - Developing Classroom Instructional Knowledge Build effective teaching techniques, lesson planning, communication, and classroom management skills. Module 503 - Developing Vehicle Operational Skills Develop advanced driving techniques and learn how to effectively teach behind-the-wheel instruction. Module 504 - Student Teaching Practicum Gain supervised, hands-on teaching experience in both classroom and vehicle instruction.
