At Jungle Driving School — West St. Louis County, we're on a mission to save teen lives by creating confident, safe, road-ready drivers. We believe every student deserves a learning environment where they feel supported, understood, and empowered. We're opening in Ladue, MO and looking for a part-time Driving Instructor to join our team. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Deliver engaging, effective behind-the-wheel driving instruction to beginning teen drivers using the Jungle Driving curriculum. Facilitate 2-hour classroom sessions covering Missouri road laws, safety fundamentals, and the Jungle Readiness program. Maintain constant calm and vigilance during in-car lessons, utilizing dual controls and verbal guidance when needed. Adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of all learners — including students with driving anxiety, ADHD, or different learning styles. Provide detailed, constructive feedback after every session to help each student grow. Keep accurate student records and communicate student progress professionally with parents and guardians. Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and road-ready at the start of each shift.
SCHEDULE & HOURS
This is a part-time position with primary hours in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends — aligned with when students are available after school.
Typical shifts include:
Weekday afternoons and evenings (approximately 3:00-8:30 PM) Saturday and/or Sunday availability preferred Summer hours will include additional daytime availability Hours will grow with enrollment — strong performers will have the opportunity to expand to full-time as the school scales
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR A
natural teacher — patient, calm, and genuinely invested in student success. Someone who connects easily with teenagers and keeps a positive, encouraging energy even with anxious or challenging students. Comfortable driving in all weather conditions and all traffic environments in West St. Louis County. Reliable, punctual, and professional — our students and their parents are counting on you. A passion for safety and a personal commitment to the mission of saving teen lives. Experience in teaching, coaching, law enforcement, youth work, or driving instruction is a strong plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 25 years of age (required for insurance compliance). Valid Missouri driver's license with a clean driving record — no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and zero DUI/DWI convictions. High school diploma or equivalent required. Comfortable spending extended periods in a vehicle as a passenger instructor. Ability to stand for periods of time while facilitating classroom instruction. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check (criminal history, motor vehicle records, and sex offender registry) and drug screening. No prior driving instruction experience required — we provide full training through the Jungle Driving program.
COMPENSATION & PERKS
Pay:
$22-$26/hour based on experience. Full paid training provided through the Jungle Driving instructor certification program.
