Computer Lab Assistant
FLSA STATUS
Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school and three years of experience in the use of computing and information technology resources. Minimum of 24 semester credits in any discipline see below). Specific knowledge of the particular software or systems supported may be required. Must obtain and maintain a CDL Bus license and drive a bus when called upon to do so.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures teachers know how to use available software and hardware and ensures equipment is working properly. Performs disk back-ups, as required. Trains users for full utilization of hardware and software. Provides timely resolution of computer problems by providing answers or referral. Installs new software, and develops applications for users. Evaluates hardware and software and makes purchase recommendations. Obtains and maintains CDL bus license. Completes the pre-trip and post-trip inspection. Drives a bus when called upon to do so while maintaining proficiency in driving skills. Maintains bus route schedule. Maintains discipline and reports undisciplined students to school administration. Discharge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized students. Complies with local and state traffic regulations and observes all mandatory safety regulations. Reports delays and accidents. Cleans the interior of the bus. Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness. Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Possess hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data. Auditory acuity at a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor vocalized instructions. Possess visual acuity to read and analyze computer screen, documents and correspondence. Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required. Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License. Applicants must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when requested for purposes of driving a school bus. REV 04/25
