HIRING MULTIPLE POSITIONS STAFF INSTRUCTOR
The pay range for this position is $25.40 - $35.62 per hour The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Fire Standards and Training and Emergency Medical Services has various part time Staff Instructor positions available. These are part time and do not offer insurance benefits.Summary:
The Staff Instructor, under general supervision, is to provide cognitive and psychomotor instruction for Division offered training programs. This position requires strong organizational skills, good communication skills, an ability to effectively deliver practical hands-on instruction and include technology in the teaching of classes, and familiarity with all aspects the training program being taught.YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.Education:
High school diploma or high school equivalency credential.Experience:
M ust have two years or more experience in fire or emergency medical services, education, or related field.License/Certification:
1. Certified in Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I 2. Certified in Firefighter I 3. Credentialed as a State Fire Instructor OR 1. Certified in Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I 2. Certified as an EMT or higher 3. Licensed at a minimum of an NH EMS InstructorSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position may be required to operate a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools, used in fire and EMS training. Tasks require the ability to exert very heavy physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials (up to 100 pounds) and occasionally heavier items (100 pounds or over). Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for very heavy work. Selected candidate will undergo a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information. Provide instruction in cognitive and psychomotor classes, demonstrate skills and coach student performance in compliance with approved curriculums. Evaluates student knowledge and skills and through established assessments provides necessary feedback to the students. Coaches and initiates corrective action to students who are not able to meet the training standard. Follow Division procedures for student evaluation. Deliver classes in a manner to ensure an effective learning experience. Maintain a high level of competence and expertise in the teaching field or subject area assigned. Incorporate current teaching techniques, subject area developments, and current technology into the learning experience. Inform students concerning course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance requirements, and academic progress.
