Capital Transportation Academy (CTA) is looking for experienced Class A CDL drivers who communicate well, enjoy working with people, and are interested in using their experience to help others become a commercial driver. If you have at least 3 years of verifiable Class A driving experience , you do not need previous instructor experience. CTA provides paid training to prepare you to become a licensed CDL Instructor with the State of Ohio.

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday | 7:00 AM-6:00 PM 3 Day Weekends | Home Daily

•Upon successfully completing CTA's training and state licensing requirements, you will transition into a CDL Instructor role. What You'll Learn & Do Complete paid training to become an Ohio-licensed CDL Instructor. Learn CTA's methods for teaching pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers, classroom instruction, and behind-the-wheel road training. Train and support students as they develop the skills needed to become safe, professional commercial drivers. Evaluate student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback. Maintain accurate student training and progress records. Follow CTA curriculum standards, Ohio Administrative Code requirements, and FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations.

What We're Looking For Requirements:

Valid Class A CDL Minimum 3 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience Current DOT medical card High school diploma or equivalent Ability to pass background investigation, MVR review, and drug & alcohol screening Ability to successfully complete CTA's instructor training program and obtain and maintain an Ohio CDL Instructor license Why CTA? Physical & Work Environment This position includes classroom, skills pad, and behind-the-wheel instruction. Instructors must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, safely enter and exit commercial vehicles, and have the mobility and dexterity necessary to demonstrate driving skills. Classroom instruction takes place in a clean, climate-controlled environment. Outdoor and behind-the-wheel instruction may occur in varying weather conditions and includes normal exposure associated with commercial vehicles and training facilities.
