Overview Join our dynamic team as a Bus Driver and Float Teacher, where your energy and dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and community members. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting students, including those requiring wheelchair assistance, while fostering a positive and secure environment onboard. Your expertise in transportation safety, child behavior management, and exceptional customer service will ensure every journey is safe, smooth, and enjoyable. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving skills with educational support, making a lasting impact every day. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses, transit buses, or paratransit vehicles in accordance with traffic laws Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and emergency stop procedures when needed. Maintain discipline and manage student behavior to ensure a safe environment onboard, adhering to school policies and behavior management protocols. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with vehicle codes and safety standards. Respond quickly to traffic changes or road hazards to ensure timely arrivals while prioritizing passenger safety. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with students, parents, school staff, and other stakeholders. Support childcare or senior care responsibilities as required, demonstrating compassion and professionalism at all times. Complete accurate documentation such as shift reports, incident reports, and logs related to vehicle maintenance or passenger counts. Skills Proven experience in bus driving preferred but not necessary. Knowledge of child discipline strategies and behavior management techniques suitable for school-aged children. Experience working with children or seniors in a caregiving capacity is highly desirable. Strong writing skills for completing reports accurately and promptly.
Pay:
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
