Job Description

King Transportation is growing our school transportation program, and we're looking for dependable, caring individuals to join our team as Student Transportation Monitors/Aides . This is a non-driving position . You'll ride along with students traveling to and from school, educational programs, and work programs throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Your job is to help maintain a safe, calm, and orderly environment inside the vehicle so our driver can stay focused on the road. If you're dependable, comfortable working with students, and looking for part-time weekday work that makes a difference, this could be a great fit. What You'll Do Ride with students during scheduled transportation Help maintain a safe and orderly environment inside the vehicle Monitor student behavior and minimize distractions to the driver Provide basic redirection when necessary Communicate any significant behavioral or safety concerns Follow student-specific transportation instructions when provided Work together with the driver to provide safe and reliable transportation No Experience? We'll Train You. Previous school transportation experience is not required . King Transportation will provide training to prepare you for the position. Training will cover student safety, maintaining order inside the vehicle, basic behavior management and de-escalation, appropriate student interaction, King Transportation procedures, and field orientation. Monitors will also complete the Pennsylvania-approved University of Pittsburgh Child Welfare Resource Center "
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse:
Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania" training. Requirements Because our monitors work directly with students, they are required to meet the same background and clearance standards as our school van drivers.
Applicants must:
Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening Pass Pennsylvania School Law required clearances/background checks Complete required child abuse clearance Complete required criminal background check Complete FBI fingerprint/background clearance when required Be dependable and report to scheduled assignments on time Be comfortable working with school-age students Display good communication and interpersonal skills Complete all required King Transportation training Schedule Monday-Friday Morning and afternoon school transportation assignments Part-time opportunities Flexible scheduling based on available routes School-year work Pay $18.00 per hour This is a great opportunity for retirees, parents, caregivers, college students, or anyone looking for meaningful part-time weekday work without the responsibility of driving a school vehicle.
