Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CDL Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for educating and training new drivers in the safe operation of commercial vehicles, specifically focusing on tractor-trailer operations. You will utilize your expertise in truck driving and teaching to ensure that trainees develop the necessary skills to succeed in their driving careers. Duties Conduct classroom instruction on commercial driving regulations, safety protocols, and vehicle operation techniques. Provide hands-on training in the operation of tractor-trailers, including air brake systems and tanker vehicles. Assess trainee performance through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance their driving skills. Develop training materials and lesson plans that align with industry standards and best practices in adult education. Maintain accurate records of trainee progress and performance evaluations. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages open communication and questions from trainees. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for air brake and tanker operations. Proven experience as a truck driver, with a strong understanding of tractor-trailer operation. Previous teaching or training experience, preferably in an adult education setting or classroom environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. Strong organizational skills to manage training schedules and documentation efficiently.
