Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive classroom instruction on topics such as traffic laws, FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and safe driving practices for commercial vehicles. Conduct hands-on behind-the-wheel training for various vehicle types including tractor-trailers, buses, and trucks with manual transmissions or air brake systems. Assess student progress through evaluations, practical tests, and feedback sessions to ensure mastery of skills required for commercial driving licenses (CDL). Teach specialized skills such as tanker operations, air brake handling, and operating vehicles with manual transmissions. Maintain detailed records of student attendance, performance, and progress in compliance with licensing standards. Stay current with industry regulations and incorporate updates into curriculum to ensure training aligns with FMCSA standards. Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students to achieve their certification goals while emphasizing safety and professionalism. Qualifications 10 Years of proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operation and bus driving. Valid CDL license with endorsements such as tanker, air brake, or passenger (if applicable). Strong knowledge of traffic laws, FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, and safety protocols for commercial vehicles. Prior experience in commercial driving instruction or adult education is highly preferred. Familiarity with manual transmissions and operating vehicles equipped with air brakes is essential. Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex concepts to adult learners of diverse backgrounds.
