Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and coachable Martial Arts Instructor (25YO+) to join our team in Melissa, TX. This is an entry-level leadership role designed for individuals who want to build a long-term career in martial arts instruction and academy leadership. You will work directly with senior staff to: Assist, eventually lead, in teaching classes Support our after-school program Drive and supervise students using our "Karate Bus" (academy van pickup from local elementary schools) Keep a clean and welcoming academy for our students and parents Coach students in classes, camps, and events Visit with prospective students and families to match students with the program/curriculum that will be the best fit their needs. This role is a development track position with a clear path to: ➡Senior Instructor ➡ Chief Instructor ➡ Academy Leadership
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Instruction Support Assist Lead Instructors in teaching Martial Arts classes Plan classes using a set Martial Arts curriculum (Taekwondo/American Karate, Kickboxing, and Jiujitsu) Demonstrate techniques and guide students to do their best in every class Support classroom management and student engagement Reinforce discipline, focus, and respect of students After-School Program (Karate Bus Driver) Drive our Karate Bus to pick up students from local elementary schools Ensure safe transportation and supervision Maintain structure and positive behavior during transit Follow all safety and transportation procedures Coaching & Student Development Work with students in: Taekwondo/American Karate Boxing fundamentals Basic Jiujitsu (grappling & control) Assist with student progress and skill development Help prepare students for rank testing and graduation Talking with students and their support systems on their progress in the program Visit with prospective student and parents to match students with the program/curriculum that will be the best fit for them. Camps & Events Assist with summer camps and school break camps Lead games, drills, and structured activities Support field trips and transportation when needed Set up and "man" a booth, having effective sales conversations with prospects at community events/festivals Participate in Tournaments and support registration efforts at the Academy Level. Prepare students for tournaments and rank testings. Coachable and eager to learn Dependable and punctual Positive, energetic and professional Strong with kids and able to lead by example Interested in long-term growth Outgoing and engaging Qualifications Minimum age: 25 years Proficiency in: Taekwondo and/or Karate (required) Boxing (fundamentals required) Basic Jiu-Jitsu /grappling (preferred) Prior teaching, coaching, or assisting experience preferred
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience working with children strongly preferred Valid driver's license with clean driving record (required) Comfortable driving a passenger van (Karate Bus) Ability to pass background and driving record checks CPR/First Aid certification is a plus Career Growth Path This position is designed to develop future leaders.
