A Driving Instructor is responsible for teaching students the rules of the road and the safe way to handle an automobile or motorcycle. This may involve both classroom and/or behind the wheel instruction. They are required to remain up to date with their regional and national traffic laws to insure proper curriculum and demonstration. Some inform their students on the process to obtain a valid driver's license in their region or nation.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The School Age Childcare Site Director plans, directs, and supervises the site activities at an assigned location of the School Age Childcare Program within the South Sound YMCA as directed by the acting Program Director and/or Sr. Program Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise staff/volunteers to provide a safe and healthy environment and a quality program. Maintains good YMCA relationships with children, parents/guardians, community and school staff. Supports the monitoring of and whereabouts of Y-care youth both inside and especially outside when playing in the open to meet safety standards and protocols. Supports in implementing enrichment activities and appropriately involves staff in its delivery. Reads and becomes familiar with licensing regulations; sees that the program meets all the requirements as set by the State; immediately reports any problems to the assigned Program Director. Sees that all appropriate supplies required to run a quality program are available during scheduled planning hours. Turn in completed paperwork by required deadlines. Attend required and appropriate trainings and staff meetings. Read and follow the guidelines of the policy manual and licensing and evaluation standards. Dresses in clean, neat clothing appropriate for indoor and outdoor educational and recreational activities; maintains a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, including personal hygiene, in accordance with standards set by the YMCA personnel policy. Maintain site in accordance with school district standards by doing such custodial duties as necessary to leave the general space, restrooms, sinks, halls, playground in clean, orderly condition. Maintain accurate time and attendance records through Paycom system. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Be 21 years of age.
Education:
Completed 30 college credits in any one hundred -level or above college coursework or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by DCYF (Department of Children Youth and Families). Possess at least two years of experience working with children; volunteers; cooperate s with school personnel in a positive, professional manner; maintains a facility in accordance with state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements; relate well to children and their families.
Training:
meet and maintain training standards set by the state of Washington as a childcare professional, including completion of 30-hour childcare basics training and 10 additional yearly hours. Pass background check through DCYF and SSYMCA. Acceptable driving record, meeting standards to be added to the Y's authorized drivers list.
Upon Hire:
Must complete all SSYMCA required trainings within 45 days of hire. Complete all DCYF Licensing requirements within 14 days of hire: Negative Tuberculosis Test MMR record Current Food Handler Perm it College Transcripts Fingerprints and DCYF background check Complete required STARS qualified trainings Has the following documentation on file at the site, the YMCA Child Care Office, and digitally on the employee's HRIS profile within expressed time limits after hire: First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens training completed within 45 days of hire New Employee Orientation completed within 45 days of hire Food Handlers Card completed within the first 7 days of employment or have a current Food Handlers Card Proof of Auto Insurance.
