Job Description
Summer Activity Camp Instructor
- Floater/Substitute (Montlake Community Center) The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring a Summer Activity Camp Instructor (Floater/Substitute) to deliver camps at Montlake Community Center.
Pay Range:
$25- $27 hourly DOE/non-exempt; seasonal summer position only

Montlake Community Center Schedule:
Monday- Friday approx.
Hire By:
June 5, 2026 Training dates: On-site training will take place between June 24 and June 26, 2026. Details TBD.Program dates:
June 29th- August 21st, 2026 The schedule is subject to change based upon programming needs and requirements Summer Activity Camp Instructor
- Floater/Substitute responsibilities: Programming Requirements Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities in various subject areas to ages 5-14 Primarily support dedicated instructor in camp delivery Periodically lead a camp during instructor absence Supervise 1 hour "lunch club" daily Use critical thinking to problem-solve Maintain camp appropriate professional appearance Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space Reports to Associated Recreation Council Activity Camp Administrator Relationship Building Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants Collaborate with Activity Camp Administrator and other on-site staff to ensure safety of all participants Collaborate with Activity Camp Administrator to manage behavioral concerns of all participants Communicate with parents, coworkers and Seattle Parks and Recreation partners in a professional and courteous manner Attend all required meetings and training Care and Safety Follow safety protocols while ensuring all campers are following Complete required accident/incident forms if participants or instructors are injured Summer Activity Camp Instructor•Floater/Substitute minimum qualification: 18 years of age or older Prior youth programming experience required Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships Additional Preferred Requirements Preference given to instructors available for all or most of the summer program Please submit any needed time off requests in advance with application
