POSITION

The Department of Teacher Education invites applications for a temporary lecturer appointment. Part-time appointment to begin in Fall 2026. Duties include teaching various courses in the Education Specialist Credential Program (ESCP) in the Department of Teacher Education. Additional responsibilities include holding office hours for students; participation in course collaboration meetings, and program-related training. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master's in Special Education or a Master's in Education with a concentration in Special Education. 2. Demonstrated expertise in teaching students with disabilities. 3. A minimum of five years of TK-12 teaching experience in a special education setting (i.e., Mild/Moderate and/or Extensive Support Needs). 4. Strong evidence of teaching effectiveness (

Strong knowledge of Teacher Performance Expectations, Common Core State Standards, and the ELA/ELD Framework, and pedagogical frameworks (e.g., UDL, SEL) and their application to teaching and learning.

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package. Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule, and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. The Department of Teacher Education offers professional teacher credentialing programs in Single Subject (secondary education), Multiple Subject (elementary education), and Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate and Exceptional Support Needs) credentials. Credential programs have developed strong partnerships with neighboring schools, where students conduct fieldwork and take many credential courses. All programs are accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).

BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE
