Job Description:
The Education Department seeks qualified individuals to join our adjunct hiring pool to express their interest in future, part-time teaching assignments at Worcester State. Courses are taught at the undergraduate and graduate level.
The successful candidate must:
Be an experienced classroom teacher with experience working with diverse populations e.g. economic, cultural, linguistic and special needs. Demonstrate innovative and effective teaching methods to engage undergraduate and graduate students in education courses, while modeling best practices. Have experience with various assessment practices and differentiated instruction strategies to meet the needs of all learners Exhibit skill in instructional technology including technology integration with newer technologies such as iPads, innovative online tools, learning platforms and multimodal literacies. Total credits will vary from 3 - 9 in the day division, DGCE, or a combination thereof. The department also seeks adjunct professors to supervise student teachers at the initial licensure level.
The successful candidate must:
Be an experienced classroom teacher with experience working with diverse population e.g. economic, cultural, linguistic and special needs. Have experienced supervising or mentoring student teachers and/or colleagues at the K- 12 setting. Be familiar with the Massachusetts Candidate Assessment of Performance (CAP).
Job Requirements:
Required qualifications for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses: An earned doctorate or a Master's degree in Education or relevant discipline. Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning. A minimum of three years of teaching in K-12 setting (preferably). Required qualifications for supervising student teachers at the initial licensure level: An earned doctorate or a Master's degree in Education or relevant discipline. Significant experience as a classroom teacher in his or her area of licensure. Ability to use technology effectively. A minimum of five years of teaching in K-12 setting.
Other Requirements:
Experience with distance learning preferred. Must have a laptop and reliable internet access.
