Siena University is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach the spring 2027 course

Effective Teaching for All Learners.

Effective Teaching for All Learners will explore teaching and classroom assessment for the full range of students a teacher encounters in today's classroom: at-risk students, students with special needs, new language learners, struggling readers, and those who struggle with school success in general. The course also introduces general educators to the legal and procedural foundations of special education, including IDEA, IEPs, MTSS, and collaborative responsibilities within inclusive classroom settings. The resources and strategies available to assist classroom teachers will be discussed and implemented, with a focus on differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning. Graduate students will learn to evaluate the effectiveness of their teaching in relation to their students' success in the classroom. The pedagogical emphasis will include students' evaluation of learning strategies and assessments across different student populations, as well as the design and implementation of effective instructional strategies. Awareness, empathy, and empowerment are the goals for both teachers and their students. Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a closely related field. Demonstrated commitment to graduate-level liberal arts education. Knowledge of New York State teaching standards. Ability to teach effectively in a higher education environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior university-level teaching experience.

Pay Rate:

$1333.34 per contact hour •The hiring pay rate above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.
