Job Summary The Student Success Student Assistant supports the Student Success team by assisting with administrative tasks, event planning, and student engagement activities. This position helps prepare for and support campus events, including New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and other First-Year Experience programs. Responsibilities include assisting with presentations, welcoming and guiding students during events, providing general information about campus resources, and completing administrative tasks that contribute to student success initiatives. This role provides valuable customer service experience while helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for new and continuing students. Essential Functions 35% Assist with planning, preparing and supporting Student Success events, including New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, First-Year Experience programs, workshops, and other campus engagement activities. 25% Provide excellent customer service by welcoming students, answering general questions, directing students to campus resources, and assisting with event check-in and registration. 20% Complete administrative tasks such as preparing materials, organizing supplies, entering data, maintaining records, and supporting daily office operations. 10% Assist with student outreach by making reminder calls, sending emails or text messages, promoting events, and encouraging student participation in Student Success programs. 10% Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Student Success department and its initiatives. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and one year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience. Desired Qualifications 1. Associate's degree. 2. Experience in a leadership role within a student club or organization, or previous campus employment experience. 3. Experience working in a customer service setting. 4. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, systems, and software applications. 5. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a positive and professional approach. 6. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. 7. Experience using spreadsheets, web-based applications, and other technology tools to organize information and complete assigned tasks. 8. Completed a minimum of 6 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better at a Maricopa Community College or university.
